DIY Chevron Glitter Frame

Traditionally, spring cleaning is about getting rid of all that stuff that you don’t use or need anymore. You get rid of clothes and make room for more clothes! You reorganize, clean, and get ready for the crazy summer ahead. Well, as of late, I can’t seem to get rid of anything. Instead, things end up putting it in the “I can re-purpose this!” pile.

My pile is getting rather large.

I might becoming a crafting supplies hoarder.

But! I did actually re-purpose something! And I am going to tell you about it.

The worst part is, I got this recycled object from a coworker that was doing her spring cleaning properly (actually getting rid of things).

But! I have a finished project, so it’s not considered hoarding right? I even gifted the finished project away to a friend.

Ok. Now I will introduce you to my upcycled spring cleaning project: a Chevron Glitter Frame.

Alright, grab that old frame that you are bored of (or your co-workers). And some sandpaper, spray paint, glitter, double-sided tape paper, and a zig-zag scrapbooking stencil (or a ruler).

First, sand down the frame to allow for the paint to stick. I forgot to that and the paint never dried, sooo I had to sand down paint and the frame. Lucky for you, I did the living and learning for the both of us. Spray paint your frame and allow it to dry overnight. I used silver spray paint but you can use whatever color you want.

Next, trace the chevron pattern on your double-sided tape sheets, about 1/2 inch wide. Cut out your rows of chevron with scissors. Take off one side of the paper on the tape and pour glitter on top. Take off the other paper from the tape (does that paper even have a name? please enlighten me if so) and stick it onto your frame.

Now your have a fun chevron pattern glitter frame!

And it was practically free. Doesn’t it make you want to start spring cleaning?

Don’t answer that. It doesn’t make me want to spring clean either, but it is a pretty darn cute by-product!
