How to Make Fresh Pumpkin Puree {video post}

We often make fun of my in-laws when they can’t figure out how to use their iPhones, but I need to remind myself that I just might be in their shoes one day. As far as technology goes, I’m pretty far behind in comparison to other people my age (especially being raised in Silicon Valley). My phone is usually the old version, I don’t know the latest apps to use, and I certainly don’t want to wear any cutting edge watch or glasses anytime soon. My future kids will surely be laughing at me while I’m yelling profanities at whatever robot our future has in store for us.

All this being said, let me tell you about this new technology called Youtube. Heard of it? Ya me neither.

I kid, I kid.

Youtube and I have been friends for a while now, but just on a first name basis. I spent the last few days getting to know him better, and now I’ve decided to give him one of my videos to share. He wasn’t very grateful though- he sent it back claiming music copyright issues, bla bla bla (hence why I restrain from using new technology). Thankfully, we managed to resolve our issues. Ya, I know I’m a few years late to the video party. But it doesn’t matter. My philosophy in life is better late than never. So here goes…

I made a recipe video! This is also a post from last year, but I just think everyone needs to see how easy it is so they will give it a try themselves.

Whadya think? I think I’ll try some more as long as my camera man has availability for me.

  1. Your video is great! Love how succinct it is. Some of these other bloggers are making videos and just talking talking talking. I saw a video by a blogger yesterday about how to make a pulled chicken sandwich…12 minutes long! You did great! And ya, the music copyright issue is annoying. Did you figure out to use the YouTube stock music for free? That’s easy. Loved watching! And now I need to make my own pumpkin puree!

    1. Thanks Natalie! Your videos definitely inspired me! I don’t have patience for 12 minutes- no thanks. Ya, i found the stock music! Super easy once I figured it out. It’s sad to not get to use some fun current songs but oh well, this one works well enough 🙂

  2. Just roasted my first two pumpkins two days ago and have two batches of bread in the oven as we speak! Only difference is I put the pumpkin pulp in a NutriBullet. Your Swiss pumpkin is so different looking! Thanks for getting me out of the can.

    1. I totally forgot that wasn’t the norm! I’m so used to it now. They have other ones like the states but they are harder to find. I’m glad I’ve converted you 🙂 The seeds are weird in this pumpkin but when I get a better pumpkin I will work on some seed recipes for ya!

  3. I like the video, good length and easy to follow.

    Any suggestions on what to do with the pumpkin puree after you make it? Other than pumpkin pie?

    1. you’d probably like pumpkin snickerdoodles, or the pumkin cookies steph made last year. go to the categories on the right side of the blog and click on pumpkin- everything will come up! my favorite is the soup and the curry.
