Popcorn Balls

So I made some popcorn balls. I always associate popcorn balls with Halloween and realized that I had no idea why that was the case.  You can make popcorn anytime of year, so why would I only think to make popcorn balls before Halloween?

To Google I went.

I did some research, and I found out that popcorn sales peak in the fall due to harvest season. Since Halloween falls around harvest, people would make popcorn balls to pass out to trick-or-treaters. I guess that explains why I didn’t know the relation…you can’t trust those homemade treats anymore! So sad, but true. I think you can buy pre-packed popcorn balls these days, but it isn’t the same. Might as well just make them for yourself and friends to enjoy! The ones I made are even a little on the healthy side.

First up was the Caramel Apricot Popcorn Ball.

And then the Peanut Butter Honey Chocolate Chip Popcorn Ball.

Check out my recipes here if you want to make them too!
